Lay people avoid contact with weed biotypes Mexico


Kuala Lumpur: The public is advised to avoid being exposed or touched 'weed biotypes Mexico' or 'parthenium hysterophorus' because it can cause allergies, especially to children and parents.

Director General of the Ministry of Health, Datuk Dr. Noor Hisham Abdullah said in a statement, weed biotypes Mexico has chemicals in pollen, the roots, leaves and stems of Parthene, Hymen and Ambrose identified could impact on human health.






"But not all of which are exposed suffer allergic reactions or allergies. Some people have symptoms (allergic) when continuous and repeated exposure.

"Symptoms of an allergic reaction is like skin rash, skin peeling, itching of the skin, eye swelling, allergic rhinitis and irritation to the respiratory system such as colds and asthma," he said.
