Kuala Lumpur: Actor Zed Zadi has retained his position as President of the Artists' Association of Malaysia (artist), beating two other contenders in the 14th General Meeting (AGM 14) held earlier.
Zed, 34, has defeated two challengers, Datuk Mustapha Maarof and Afdlin got 109 votes. Mustapha, 79, who had served as president of the Artists previously got 71 votes, while Afdlin, 43, was with only 66 votes.
However, the 14th AGM held at the National Film Development Corporation Malaysia (Finas), Hulu Klang, Selangor last in a little tense before the selection is made.
On 21 November 2013, the High Court declared that the 14th General Meeting (AGM 14) Artists held on May 26, 2012 null and void and all made in the selection committee meeting null and void.
