ASK 2014 broadcast live on TV3 from Putra World Trade Centre (PWTC).A factory worker was shocked after a mobile phone store additional charge of S $ 1.445 (RM3,700) when he purchased the smartphone iPhone 6, reported yesterday.
Vietnamese, Pham Van Duong, 28, had already paid a sum of S $ 949 (RM2,436) for the iPhone 6 to a shop selling mobile phones in Sim Lim Square here.
However, he was shocked after a store employee told me that he could not return until he pays extra money of S $ 1.507 (RM3,861) for the bond package.
Pham who can not afford to pay the extra charge was later asked that the money be returned, but the seller refused to refund the money.
Pham was appealing situation crying and kneeling before the money is returned contributed to him laughed.
He said he kept a sum of S $ 169 (RM434) per month since a few months ago to buy the iPhone 6 as a birthday gift for his girlfriend.
Pham action was recorded by a customer in the store cause the video has become popular on the internet.
Due to concerns of the public, the poor man was able to accept donations of S $ 14.446 (RM37,000) from across the country.
A Singaporean who took the initiative, Gabriel Kang said, he did so because he wanted to prove it is not a thief or a liar.
The store does have a bad reputation with the 18 complaints received by the authorities and never returned clients' money in the form of coins of S $ 1.651 (RM4,233).
