school session to postpone to 2015 in 11 and 12 January



Kuala Lumpur: Ministry of Education agreed to postpone the start of school in the nation for 2015 during the week following the floods that hit the country this time, public Education Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin.

He said, with this delay, the new date session started school in 2015 for the state of Kedah, Kelantan,

Terengganu and Johor is on January 11, 2015 (Sunday).

Whereas for other states will begin on January 12, 2015 (Monday).

"As many are aware that the current flood is still ongoing country especially in states east coast of Peninsular Malaysia.

"As at the date of December 28, 2014, the Ministry of Education (MOE) found a total of 340 schools from seven states affected by the flood, whether used as a Temporary Relocation Center (PPS) or school is submerged by floods.



"As Minister of Education, I am very understanding and caring for the difficulties that will be faced by all parties, including the management of the school.

Teachers, parents and pupils in the event of schooling for 2015 open as scheduled, on January 4, 2015 (for the state of Kedah, Kelantan, Terengganu and Johor) and on January 5, 2015 for the other states.

In this regard, please be informed that the KPM hereby agree to postpone the start of school in the nation for 2015 for a week, "he said in a statement.

This suspension was also made after taking into consideration;
a) The schools involved either as PPS or flooded will take time to be restored; and
b) The situation of teachers, parents and students who are victims of floods and deprivation need to take
time to recover and prepare for their schooling.

Muhyiddin said if the floods, the school management should use the period to conduct cooperative clearing each school.

This, he said, to ensure that our children can learn in a safe, comfortable and perfect.
