Day 7 The victim was found still strapped in the passenger seat
Surabaya: After nearly a week, search and rescue (SAR) still faced with adverse weather conditions in the mission to find all the bodies of the victims who perished on board AirAsia QZ8501.
As of Friday, the number of bodies found in Central Kalimantan is 30. According to Chris Command Sofiyan of Indonesia, some of them were found still strapped in their seats. Four accident victims have been identified and returned to their family members, including a flight attendant and a boy, aged 11 years.
The wreckage was detected by sonar on Tuesday and said to be in inverse on the seabed 100 meters.
AirAsia QZ8501 carrying 162 passengers and crew on its way from Surabaya to Singapore when he was lost on Sunday, December 28, 2014. Prior to disappear from radar, the pilot had requested permission to increase the height but not given permission by the air traffic control center for traffic conditions air crowded at that time.
The exact cause of the crash is still unknown but believed to be due to bad weather.
On Friday, more than 200 local residents in Surabaya had gathered in a mosque and pray for all the victims who died.
