Privately owned watches Agong bid on charity carnival

ALOR SETAR - A businessman successfully bid for a private collection of watches owned by Yang di-Pertuan Agong Tuanku Abdul Halim Mu'adzam Shah at the charity auction of his personal belongings here today.

Managing Director of Epic Valley Holding Sdn Bhd, Tan Sri Dr FNG Ah Seng managed to make the purchase in the Charity Carnival Lovers Day 2015, organized by the Foundation Bahiyah (YSB) in the compound of the Darul Aman Stadium.

Money from buying it directly donated to the foundation fund to finance projects free tuition by Titian Smart YSB for poor pupils aged 10 to 12 years.

Tuition focus is in Mathematics, English and Science.

Dr FNG said this was the 17th time he was involved in the Carnival Charity Day Care with the intention of helping those in need.

"I'll keep at it as my personal collection as it is hard to get it while other items such as paintings entitled 'A bouquet of flowers' worth RM8,000 will be donated to non-governmental organizations (NGOs).

"This year I purchased a lump of ice at a price of RM20,000 compared to RM80,000 last year. Total keseluruhun which I donated to the foundation in this fund amounted to RM160,000 which the amount of the bid items worth RM90,000, ice clod RM20 , 000 and checks worth RM50,000, "he told reporters.

Native of Sungai Petani, Kedah has said he supports the foundation's charitable efforts and shadow Yang di-Pertuan Agong.

Meanwhile, a charity auction is conducted of the Board of Trustees of YSB, Datuk Nasir Mustafa along with members of the group scenario, Lan Pet Pet managed to raise funds totaling RM377,000 results of the auction of 20 items, including portraits of the King and Queen.
