Beware of unregistered drugs in social media



Kota Bahru - Beware the sale of unregistered medicines and approved by the Ministry of Health (MOH) for a cheap price through Facebook.

Assistant Director of Pharmacy, Department of Health Mohammad Sabah Aswady Adenan a warning that says online business methods or online to medium groups of traders who want to make money easily.

Mohammad Aswady said people should know the risks and dangers of drug use are not registered because they can be harmful to health.

"Any drugs to be sold in Malaysia must be approved by the MOH, otherwise the drug may be at particular risk as it was laced with toxins or steroids.

"If we use drugs that are mixed with substances such as steroids it would be detrimental to health. Of course, it will give an immediate effect but the future health will be affected," he said.

Aswady said Mohammad easy way to detect drugs that are not registered are not Registration Number 'MAL' and also holographic sticker MOH.

"So people who buy drugs need to be sure the medicine bottle or box that has two elements, then the drug is safe to use," he said.

Meanwhile, he said the Kelantan State Pharmacy Enforcement Branch has created a Facebook and Instagram accounts as a measure to monitor and manage the group's unregistered traders.

He said various campaigns have been carried out to give a clearer understanding to the public about the dangers of drugs not registered.
