Police officers assault 1MDB today

Office 1Malaysia Development Berhad (1MDB) today raided the police at 11.30am.

KUALA LUMPUR: Office 1Malaysia Development Berhad (1MDB) today raided the police at 11.30am.

According to a report in The Star Online, police vehicles were seen outside the office 1MDB in Jalan Sultan Ismail, Kuala Lumpur.

Yesterday, the multi-agency task force that investigates allegations of fund 1MDB said that the six related accounts have been frozen.

Accounts may be suspended following a report by the Wall Street Journal (WSJ), which claimed a total of RM2.6 billion has been channeled to fund 1MDB personal account Najib.

Today, the Inspector General of Police Tan Sri Khalid said police would investigate the WSJ how it received information about the funds are transferred to the personal account of Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak.

In an article published on Friday, claimed that WSJ 1MDB funds totaling US $ 700 million (about RM2.6 billion) has been disbursed to the account said.

He denied the allegations and 1MDB anyhow.

Some parties in the meantime urged Najib to take action against the WSJ to clear his name and preserve the integrity of government.
