A pair of lovers who were arrested on suspicion of seclusion and drugs during the raid Ops Tapis around Paka

Three couples were among 23 men who were arrested in Ops Tapis conducted by members of the Narcotics Division IPD Dungun.

Those arrested consisted of 20 men and three women aged between 18 and 43 years, including three couples suspicion of being involved in cases of drug abuse and seclusion.

Dungun District Police Chief Supt Ahmad Arif Yaacub said, through the first operation in a raid conducted homestay in Paka who arrested two couples in separate rooms.

"During the raid in the first room available for a single male with a 28-year-old widow was embraced and are in a state of semi-nude.

"Also found 90 pills of horses and 10 grams of cocaine with the widow .. raid was carried out using a duplicate key.

"Meanwhile, in another room a young couple aged 18 and 23 years are eager kissing and hugging on hold .. examination revealed that there are five pills in the pocket male horse," he said.

Said Ahmad Arif, urine examination results also showed that both couples were positive for drugs and was arrested earlier and their cases submitted to the Majlis Agama Islam Dungun suspicion of seclusion.

"Through the operation also saw 13 men were detained, including two of whom are outside the homestay, which was bombed, while the rest around Paka and all of them tested positive for methamphetamine.

"The case is being investigated under Section 39A (1) of the Dangerous Drugs Act (DDA) 1952, Section 12 (2) ADB 1952 and Section 15 (1) (a) ADB 1952," he told the Daily Herald.

He said the second raid led by Inspector Mohd Ismail Shotaro along with seven other members do in Nibong stations namely in two separate house arrested five men and a woman aged 20 years.

"The raids were carried out in an unnumbered house and arrested a 20-year-old man believed to be a drug dealer with three bottles of seizures of heroin with an estimated weight of 15.3 grams.

"Whereas in a couple aged 20 and 22 were arrested in the state of being hugged her mother than when it occurs in a house suspected of complicity," he said.

He said, the pair tested positive for drugs while another 29-year-old man was arrested outside the home.

Further raids were carried out another house and the police arrested two men and four bottles of heroin with an estimated weight of 31 grams with 170 pills of horses placed in a rucksack.

"The couple, it was also submitted to the Majlis Agama Islam Dungun for further action and all who are remanded in custody for further investigation.

"Their case is being investigated under Section 39 (B) ADB 1952 and also understand that all detainees have past records and undergo remand within the prescribed period," he said.
