9 months old baby thrown out of the MPV death in an accident in Senai

Clonmel: A nine-month-old baby girl died after being thrown out of the vehicle in an accident involving three vehicles at Km 22, North-South Expressway, near the intersection of exit Senai, near here, today.

Kulaijaya district police chief Supt Abdul Razak Md Said said the scene at six o'clock that morning, the baby who is in the bosom of his mother sitting next to her father in the front seat, was thrown out at the scene.

He said the father of the baby, a Proton Exora, lost control of the vehicle he was driving in the right lane, and then get into the left lane and hit the back of a trailer.

Multi-purpose vehicle (MPV) are then skidded to the left side of the road, breaking the railings of the road and overturned several times, he said.

Motorcycle behind Proton Exora it, trying to avoid the two vehicles in front of him and crashed into the railings of the road.

However, parents of infants, trailer drivers and motorcyclists only minor injuries, said Razak.

The identity of all the victims of accidents, however, not disclosed.

"The baby's body was sent to Sultanah Aminah Hospital for post-mortem," he said.

The case is being investigated under Section 41 of the Road Transport Act 1987.
