Dr Mahathir sad, alleged PM had to admit lying

SHAH ALAM - Former Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad expressed his grief when forced to acknowledge the Prime Minister, Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak lie in the case of money 1Malaysia Development Berhad (1MDB).

Through recent posts on his blog, today, Dr Mahathir list two lie which he claimed was done by Najib.

"It is very sad when I found I could not avoid the fact that the Prime Minister lied. In the case of 1MDB money alleged to have been brought back from the Cayman Islands and stored in the Singapore bank BSI, a written reply by the Prime Minister to question the truth of Parliament do not meet at all.

"The first lie is that there is no cash 1MDB repatriation. Second, there is no cash included in the BSI bank in Singapore.

"It is clear from the amendments to the first answer, which is not a cash prize of USD 1,103 billion (RM3.6 billion), but included in the BSI bank documents (letter recognition) placed with banks. What he is not outstanding but this letter is clear is that it is not cash, "he said.

Wednesday, Najib through his written reply in Parliament to explain the remaining 1MDB investments managed by the Cayman Monetary Authority of US $ 1.1 (RM4.022) billion redeemed in the form of assets instead of cash.

According to Najib, the explanation was the amendment to the previous government responses that balance 1MDB investment funds redeemed in cash.

Touching bank BSI, Dr Mahathir raised the question of reports made to the bank the Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS)

"BSI Bank has stated afterwards that the document confirming the deposit made by the subsidiary 1MDB, Brazen Sky is false and not from it. It is clear that the written statement by Najib told Parliament that the documents are stored is not true.

"BSI bank has been reported to MAS 1MDB that no money deposited with it. MAS typically report this information to the National Bank.

"It is clear from the recognition that the so-called report is subject to the confidentiality of international protocols (Egmont principles of information exchange) and the requirements of confidentiality under section 10 of the AMLA. From this statement it is clear that the Bank has received the report of the Monetary Authority of Singapore.

"The purpose of concealing surely because there is something wrong or disinformation that has been done when He answered the questions that the cash has been deposited with the BSI bank in Singapore," he said.

According to Dr Mahathir, the act of concealing errors in government affairs is wrong in law but he said there is a criminal element that requires investigation and if the money was not even a trace then a legal process must be taken against all those involved.

"It is clear that in the case of cash claimed by the Prime Minister and government officials, the Central Bank and 1MDB has been brought back from the Caymans Island and stored in BSI bank in Singapore as well as amendments to the first answer that instead of cash brought back and stored in Singapore, but the documents, all of which are untrue.

"Those who make these false alarms have violated the criminal law section 218," he said.
