Hostage drama ends

KABUL - AFGHANISTAN. At least 14, including nine foreigners were killed after armed men attacked a guest house in the neighborhood Shar-e-Naw in the Afghan capital on Saturday.

According to Al-Jazeera reports, local media reported hostage drama ended after the Special Action recapture the building and rescued some 54 hostages.

In a statement, the Kabul police chief, Abdul Rahman Rahimi confirmed the exchange of fire incidents to cause some hostages were injured.

"Taliban militants claimed responsibility for masterminding the attack for seven hours in an office building near the UN and foreign embassy residence," he said.

Since the end of last month, the Taliban intensified their attacks on government and foreign targets in the country.
