Melaka: The depreciation of the ringgit forces medical services to reduce their profit margins to 30 percent.
The price of drugs is maintained in order to reduce the burden borne by the customer.
Among those who felt the effects of the depreciation of the ringgit is Putra Specialist Medical Centre (PSH) in Melaka.
Chief Executive Officer of PSH, Datuk Salleh told Radhuana AWANI said there was no rise in prices of medicines will be made until a reshuffle prices were performed.
According to him, the prices of medicines supplied by the local drug will remain as it controlled the Ministry of Health.
Last March, the Ministry of Health to upload a list price of drugs in the Pharmacy Department website as a continuous effort to monitor the price of drugs sold in the country.
Health Minister Datuk Seri Dr S. Subramaniam said the drugs in Malaysia is not a thing but price control measures are taken to monitor the prices of medicines in addition to the reference to the user.
