Sad Figure 7: Ups and downs of the first day of school in Manek Urai



Kuala Krai: The state of deprivation has not deterred some 200 students of Sekolah Kebangsaan Manek Urai to start their first day of school.

With track pants, T shirts, slippers japan, without books or backpacks, they began to arrive to school at 7.20 am with parents sent him to school even if the road is still muddy.

Qafár Aminarosnawi Muhammad, 11, from Kampung Manek Urai Lama said that although no full-dress uniform, but it is not a problem for him to start school today.

"I go to school today to see a behind the friends who have been long time no see, also wanted to see new teachers because ni sabbatical," he said, also saddened to see the school, which is still in a muddy and reminisce clothing and school supplies which was washed away by floods.

Meanwhile, the school's headmaster Ismail Yusof said it had received a total of 500 plastic chairs and tables as initial assistance from the Department of Education Kelantan, yesterday.

"School session as usual and the process of teaching and learning will be performed using existing equipment".

Yusof said, the school has over 400 pupils but proud of the presence today as many are still traumatized by the disaster.
