Civil servants under the Sarawak state government can "windfall Hari Raya"

KUCHING - About 22,000 public servants under the state government would get a windfall after the state government agreed to grant a special bonus to celebrate Hari Raya.

State Secretary, Tan Sri Mohd. Morshidi Abdul Ghani said the decision about the number of bonus awarded will be decided at the weekly cabinet meeting that may be held next week.

"In terms of amount, usually we will follow the Federal government, but still depends on the approval of the state government," he said in a press conference after launching the website of the Center of Technical Excellence (CTE) at Wisma Bapa Malaysia here yesterday.

According Morshidi, has become a practice before this, the bonus amount given to around 22,000 civil servants in this country is the same as the federal government.

Sarawak is the third state that emulates the Federal government to give special assistance in conjunction with the Hari Raya to his civil service after Selangor and Penang.
