PRK: TNB guarantee uninterrupted electricity

Georgetown - Tenaga Nasional Berhad (TNB) today assured there would be a power failure on polling day for parliamentary PRK Investment constituency on Thursday.

Deputy Minister of Energy, Green Technology and Water, Datuk Seri Mahdzir Khalid said, TNB has been preparing to ensure uninterrupted electricity supply during the election process took place.

"In any election, TNB will put their officers at all polling stations, schools and halls. They also have a backup plan in the event of a power failure," he said.

He explained that the electricity supply in the constituency on polling day are at the highest level unless something happens unexpectedly.

He was speaking to reporters after launching ARCHIVE Residential Electricity Penang Ranked Serving in Kampung Kubang Semang, here, today.

Mahdzir also hope nothing will happen to sabotage all day during voting and vote counting process takes place.

Meanwhile, Mahdzir said TNB spent RM150,000 to fund the work of wiring the electricity supply in 31 houses the less fortunate around the constituency.

He said the assistance was an initiative of the government to ensure that these groups always get comfort.
