Ape throwing firecrackers, believed to be dead infringed run

An ape that was reported injured by fireworks were believed killed in hit-run by the organizers on Saturday.

KUALA LUMPUR: Over the last few days, social media is awash with stories of an ape who was injured in firecracker that are believed to be a deliberate human act like wronged animal.

A picture of an ape called Michai with his hand bleeding, went viral on social networking sites, triggering a public outcry.

Today, netizens were shocked by the news of the death Michai believed to have been infringed run.

An association of animals, Zoological MY reported the incident via his Twitter page late on Wednesday night.

According Zoology, Michai infringed run on Saturday and suffered severe internal injuries.

Michai then rushed to a veterinary clinic for treatment, but the animal could not be saved.

Due to the persecution and killing of wildlife has increased in recent years, the zoologists call on the authorities to monitor the activities of unscrupulous.

Netizens also took the opportunity to demand justice for brutal acts through the hashtag #JusticeForMichai in social media.

Earlier, the image Michai wounded in the hand was shared by a Facebook user, Shah Mikail.

Quoting the portal Mstar, Chairman of the Malaysian Nature Society, Andrew Sebastian said, "Although this incident can not be verified, the public should know that harming wildlife is illegal and inhuman."
