Airbag Issue: Honda Malaysia 87.182 units recall its vehicles

The vehicle owners can also check status updates of their vehicles by calling the toll free number 1-800-88-2020 Honda.

Petaling Jaya: Honda Malaysia today announced the recall of some models of its products in relation to the replacement of the airbags.

Such measures are necessary to replace the driver's airbag inflator and passengers with a new set of all models of vehicles involved.

However, in his media statement, the Honda Malaysia said the move does not involve the newest model on the market.

This involves a number of security measures 87.182 vehicle units that include model City (output in 2003-2008), Civic (2003-2008), CR-V (2002-2007), Jazz (2004-2006) and Stream (2004-2005).

Replacement airbags in the driver's side is involved model City (output in 2004-2006), Civic (2006), the CR-V (2007) and Jazz (2006), while the replacement of the front passenger is the model City (2003-2008), Civic (2003-2008), CR-V (2002-2007), Jazz (2004-2006) and Stream (2004-2005).

"Honda Malaysia will call all the affected customers by mail notification containing full details of product updates.

"Customers who received the letter advised to send their vehicles to the nearest authorized Honda dealer for inspection," the statement said.

Work on the replacement of these components will be made available immediately and cost of goods and wages will be paid by the Honda Malaysia.

The vehicle owners can also check status updates of their vehicles by calling the toll free number 1-800-88-2020 Honda or deal directly with the Honda dealer registered.

"Honda Malaysia Sdn Bhd called for Honda vehicle owners involved to send their vehicles to be inspected next perform replacement in center Honda dealer as soon as possible," the statement added.
