Road cracks detected in Jalan Tun Razak


DBKL: Information from consulting engineers Drainage and Irrigation Department (DID) to confirm the route that leads to Jalan Kuching safe to use.

KUALA LUMPUR: The cracks on the road surface detected near Wisma Perkeso in Jalan Tun Razak here, but according to an officer of the Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL), the route is still safe to use.

Director of Civil Engineering and Irrigation Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL) Ir. Tan Keng Chok said it may be connected with the construction of diversion project of Kampung Baru Sungai Bunus to Jalan Tun Razak, who is being implemented.

"Information from consulting engineers Drainage and Irrigation Department (DID) confirm the path towards Jalan Kuching is safe for road users," he said when contacted last night.

According to Tan, the rift was first detected three days ago.

"The City Hall has asked the DID and its consultant submitted a report on the structure and stability of road," he said.

Meanwhile, a spokesman for the Federal Territory of Kuala Lumpur DID say it is safe to use.

However, it would ask Ikram Premier Consulting to make further investigations.
