Alor Gajah: An animal keeper Indonesian citizen killed a tiger attack at a resort here on Tuesday afternoon.

In the incident is believed to 2pm, the tiger who kept him for about eight years, suddenly pounced when the victim get into the cage to feed him.

Alor Gajah district police chief Supt Muhammad Ismail Muhammad Yusuf said the victim was aged 34 then rushed to hospital for treatment Saki died in hospital.

Director of the Department of Wildlife and National Parks (DWNP) Melaka, Noorzakiahanum Mohd Noh said his ministry is investigating the incident.

"Wildlife is also looking at the tiger situation to determine the cause of the animal's attack on the guards," he told reporters on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, the resort said in a statement, said the medical team of the resort gave medical aid to victims before he was rushed to the hospital.

"This incident is extremely rare and the victim's family members have been informed about it. The other guards have yet to determine the cause of the tiger attacked the guards," he said.

The statement also said the resort was watching closely the behavior of the animal.
