SHAH ALAM - Umno Youth demand an explanation from the Ministry of Finance and the Pilgrims Fund Board (TH) in relation to the purchase of land Tun Razak Exchange (TRX) amounted to RM188.5 million gain public attention yesterday.
Through a press release, Chairman, Khairy Jamaluddin Abu Bakar admitted his concern regarding the issue of land acquisition that TRX.
"The dispute in the purchase of land TRX's how the transaction was conducted. Here Umno Youth sought clarification from the Ministry of Finance and the TH in some cases.
"Umno Youth urged these questions are answered promptly. The purpose of these questions are asked is to have a more enlightened view of the purchases made by TH This has given rise to various speculations which angered people.
"It is well known 1MDB issue has become more acute. Umno Youth was worried that institutions such as the TH used to deliver 1MDB. Any attempt to save 1MDB that can harm people's unacceptable, "he said.
Yesterday, Deputy Group Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer TH, Datuk Johan Abdullah confirmed the statutory body has bought a piece of land worth RM188.5 million in TRX's 1MDB for construction of a residential tower but denies buying Signature Tower would cost Rs 578 million.
Among the questions raised by Umno Youth including how to raise money from the sale of the land will be used.
"What is the price paid by 1MDB for the whole land of the TRX and how the price paid by 1MDB prorated for the land sold to TH at 1:56 acre?
"Is it true that early planning before the land was sold to 1MDB TRX, is for the government to sell the land to the Property Investment Limited, a company under the Bumiputera Property Trust Foundation, established to promote property ownership among Bumiputera community?
"1MDB will receive RM188.5 million from the sale of this land to the TH. This money will be used for what purpose ?, "he said.
In the same statement, he also raised a number of questions to be answered TH.
"Do not apply a conflict of interest in this transaction as CEO of TH, Tan Sri Ismee Ismail, also a Board Member 1MDB? Are there any other conflicts of interest involving senior officials TH in this transaction?
"Is it true that the so-called discount given by 1MDB in the sale of land is actually available to the approval of TH TH pay 100 percent of the price of the land once the Sale and Purchase Agreement (SPA) signed?
If not, when will the full payment for the land will be resolved? Are TH never finish paying 100 percent of any parcel of land that was purchased as soon as the SPA was signed before?
"What is the basis of the assessment made by the Investment Panel TH approving this purchase?
Is it true risk reports made to formulate this as a high risk investment?
Is it true that the purchase of land made in the near purchased at prices more water than what is paid by TH for this land ?, "he asked.
