Ranau earthquake: 13 dead so far, Sabah mourning on Monday

The 13 deaths occurred at Mount Kinabalu.

KUALA LUMPUR: The Sabah state government declared Monday a day of mourning following the earthquake that struck the Land Below The Wind that night.

According to a Bernama report, search and rescue teams have found 11 bodies in the area of Mount Kinabalu today, making 13 the total number of victims who have died so far.

He followed up with two dead bodies were taken out of the mountains that night.

Efforts are being made to trace six other individuals who are still missing in the mountains.

Meanwhile, Chief Minister Datuk Seri Musa Aman said Malaysia Open House Harvest Festival celebration in 2015 were also canceled as a sign of sympathy to all those involved in this disaster.

He said that all departments and agencies are required to reduce Sabah flag at half mast in honor of all the victims who died.
