Defrauded former mother-in-law, loss RM850,000

KUALA LUMPUR - A food truck driver pleaded not guilty in the Magistrate's Court here today to cheating ex-mother-in-law involves a loss RM850,000, three years ago.

Kenneth Nicholas Manuel, 44, was charged with cheating Yap Yap Yoke @ Yan Yong, 73, by deceiving him into believing that the agreement should be signed Yap is to loan money while the agreement is the sale of a house owned by the woman.

The accused is charged with committing the offense at the office of Messrs TG Lim & Partners, Block B-7-2-1 Megan Salak Park, Jalan 1 / 12E Taman Desa Petaling, Cheras here, on Dec 24 2012.

He was charged under Section 420 of the Penal Code which carries a maximum prison sentence of 10 years, whipping and a fine, if convicted.

DPP Nordin Mohd Noor Noor Svetlana offered bail of RM50,000 with one surety, but the lawyer Fathi Mousa low Azaddin apply for bail on the grounds that his client had to support three children have not received salaries as well as new work.

Mardiah Nur'Aminahtul magistrate Md Nor ordered bail at RM15,000 with one surety and fixed June 15 for mention.
