PAC have international representatives involved in the inquiry 1MDB - Dr Ramon

DR RAMON: PAC should involve international representatives in the investigation 1MDB.

KUALA LUMPUR: The Public Accounts Committee (PAC) are advised to use international experts as a reference in the inquiry proceedings the company 1Malaysia Development Berhad (1MDB) on 19 May.

Chairman of the Centre for Public Policy Studies Strategy & Leadership Institute (ASLI), Tan Sri Dr Ramon Ramon said, he thus increasing confidence in the sensitivity of the issues involved lately.

"Better PAC took independent and international body to co 1MDB investigated. It is seen removing the perception of political representatives, thereby freeing people's minds have an element of bias inquiry.

"People are afraid of the result is not just the absence of an external representative, he thereby ensure public confidence in the credibility of the PAC itself," he said when contacted here today.

Dr Ramon commented PAC chairman Datuk Nur Jazlan Mohamed who said they would call the Secretary General of the Ministry of Finance (MoF) of Serigar Tan Sri Abdullah and Director General of the National Economic Planning Unit (EPU) of the Prime Minister, Datuk Seri Dr Rahmat Bivi Abdullah in the PAC inquiry ,

He said that next week, May 26, 2015, will call the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) 1MDB this point, Arul Kanda Moto and former CEO Datuk Ibrahim Halmi Shahrul who served from March 2009 to March 2013.

In the meantime, says Dr. Ramon PAC urged to increase its staff and experts in the investigation process.

"In addition, some additional provisions should be provided to the proceedings of the investigation to ensure that the outside world sees the process is carried out with integrity.

"It involves public money, so he should give results that really satisfies all parties," he explained.

Previously, MP Chief limit, Datuk Seri Reezal Merican Naina Merican Jho Low urged businessmen to come home to this country to face the PAC.

He said, Jho Low also need courage to face the media openly and defend themselves when pushed questions that will be asked reporters.
