He said the new model is an improvement of the existing model Saga, Persona and Prime collaboration with leading Japanese car manufacturer, Honda.
"In the automotive industry, we are borrowing technology. Company car giant (other) already exchanging technology. In this case, we just use the platform only from Honda and the other is the result of our own efforts.
"I really hope that all three models will enter the market in stages from January next year will be very favorable response," he said at the iftar Proton here, today.
He said the models will have a design and the latest electronic system according to the tastes of consumers today, and is equipped with safety features sufficient.
Mahathir said Proton's performance is quite good now even been working hard to produce quality cars and high-end cars from overseas equivalent as Iriz model.
"I found a very good model because Iriz very light and easy to drive compared with foreign cars of equivalent quality. But the response was not good.
