Tragic: Man killed stolen and thrown into the mine


Eight teenagers were arrested for investigation of armed robberies and murder of a former employee of a company who was stabbed before pushed into tailings ponds in Jalan Gombak, Setapak, yesterday.

The suspects, aged 15 to 18, were arrested in Kuala Lumpur at about 4 am this morning.

Deputy Chairman of the Kuala Lumpur Criminal Investigation Department, Assistant Commissioner Khairi aḥraṣa said police were still hunting for seven more suspects allegedly involved in the incident.


"All the suspects were remanded for seven days for investigation," he said in a statement Friday.
He said the case was being investigated under Section 302 of the Penal Code for murder.

In the scene at about 11:36 pm, the victim, Khairul Munggur Lachman, 19, along with five of his friends were resting in a hut near the mine before it was approached about 20 men on motorcycles tried to rob them.

According to him, the victim refused to hand over his mobile phone was hit in the head with a metal chain and lock motorcycle tires.

"As a result of the blow, she fell down before pushed into the mine," he said.

It is learned that the victim's body was found about 2 am after the search and rescue operations in the members of the Fire and Rescue Station Pudu and Cheras about 12.30 pm.
