Dozens reported missing climbers on Everest

HIMALAYA - NEPAL. Dozens of Britons among individuals who lost in the earthquake tragedy in Nepal, reported the portal Metro.co.uk yesterday.

At least 18 climbers removed from the ruins of Mount Everest, while the status of about 70 other British climbers still uncertain.

Said the climbers were buried and trapped once the avalanche that occurred as a result of the earthquake bury their overnight camp.

In the meantime, Nepal Tourism Ministry spokeswoman said the number of people missing may be increased.

"Individuals who are lost may include tourists and foreigners," he said as quoted by the report.

Meanwhile, six climbers from Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) who was climbing Mount Everest in Nepal, are safe in the powerful earthquake that occurred in the country.

Assistant Registrar, Office of Corporate Affairs UTM, Sabri Ahmad said the group, which consisted of four students and two coaches, travel to Kathmandu, March 28th.

An earthquake measuring 7.9 on the Richter scale that rocked Nepal today not only killed more than 1000 people but also nearly destroyed several centuries-old buildings in the capital Kathmandu and the surrounding area.

The earthquake has claimed 1,130 lives were reported across four countries, including Pakistan, Bangladesh and India.
