34 Umno branch chief urged Najib to resign

PORT DICKSON - A total of 34 Umno branch chairman of the five states openly urged that Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak to resign as party president.

Statement made before the media by Umno branch chief Taman PD Utama Mohd Isa Mohd Yasin after all 34 people of Negeri Sembilan, Selangor, Johor, Perak and Sabah attended an orientation session and hold a meeting that lasted about an hour starting around 3 pm here, today.

According to Mohd Isa, they unanimously urged the President to resign because already lost confidence in the credibility of the leaders in the party lead the number one Malay.

According to him, during the transitional position between Tun Abdullah Ahmad Badawi to Najib, they provide full support, in addition to placing high hopes.

"However, what is happening today is not as expected and already many are skeptical of Umno.

"Through this meeting, we want the party did not take any disciplinary action against the deputy president, vice president, head of a branch or any other Umno members who appear to make criticism of the party," he said at a press conference today.

Mohd Isa also claimed that they had received the support of nearly 5,000 head of another branch of the country and plans to hold a massive rally late next month on the matter.

However, he said, the location has not been decided.

"We are confident of the support of over a quarter of Umno branches nationwide.

"Our actions are not motivated by any party, instead of self awareness to restore the right of expression in Umno to really deserve the Umno branch chairman as the party's grassroots so be saved," he said.

Middle of last month, a total of 13 heads around Telok Kemang Umno branch held a press conference urging Najib to resign.

He followed up with action 10 branches in the Sepang Umno who also made a similar statement on Wednesday.
