Boston bomber sentenced to death by lethal injection

The jury took more than 14 hours to decide the death penalty for six of the 17 counts of Tsarnaev, who is a Muslim who was given the status of a citizen of the United States as a child.

Discussion of the case was held over three days and 12 jury panel had unanimously sentenced Tsarnaev. Otherwise, a former Chechen descent that university students will automatically receive a life sentence without parole.

Death penalty against Tsarnaev, 21, will be lethal injection.

In the incident on 3 April 2013, three people were killed and over 260 injured when a bomb placed Tsarnaev and his brother exploded at the finish line.

Previously Tsarnaev lawyer admitted his client played a role in the attack, but it was orchestrated and planned brother.

Tsarnaev who disappeared after the incident, was arrested four days later while hiding in a boat.

Tsarnaev brothers, however, were killed after being shot while trying to escape.
