Pandikar tepis statement Tun Mahathir, was Speaker of the House of Representatives

Pandikar Amin Mulia denies he resigned as Speaker of the House of Commons.

KUALA LUMPUR: Tan Sri Pandikar Amin Mulia tonight denied that he had resigned as Speaker of the House of Representatives.

He said he will work as usual as the Speaker of the House of Representatives in the Second Meeting of the Third Session of the 13th Parliament, which begins on Monday.

"I will preside over the swearing Member of Parliament for the two new members of Parliament for Rompin (Datuk Hasan Arifin) and the Investment constituency (Datuk Seri Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail) and matters set at the meeting of May 18, 2015 (Monday ), "he said in a statement here today.

He was denied a report in a news portal that claimed former prime minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad in a forum in Ipoh today said Pandikar had met him and was told to resign as Speaker of the House of Commons.

Pandikar said he will also preside over sessions proposals to the 11th Malaysia Plan, which will be presented by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak on Thursday.

Pandikar, 59, a former minister in the Prime Minister, was sworn in as the President of the House of Representatives in April 2008 to replace Tan Sri Ramli Ngah Talib.
