North Korean minister was shot dead as asleep

SEOUL - SOUTH KOREA. North Korea's defense minister was executed by being shot using an antiaircraft weapon for allegedly asleep when in an official ceremony attended by the country's supreme leader, Kim Jong Un.

Hyon Yong Chol, 66, is said to be showing 'disrespect' to Jong Un on the action.

News of the sentence served by an intelligence officer told MPs in a special meeting.

According to him, the sentence imposed on Yong Chol was witnessed by hundreds of senior military officers in April.

"The death sentence was carried out in a wide area for the Army Training Centre, north of Pyongyang," he said.

A local newspaper Yonhap also reported, Yong Chol punished by being shot with six units of anti-aircraft weapons ZPU-4.
